Windows 8 Enhanced Features
So As I spend more time using Windows 8 I have discovered some features in it that, for some reason, I have not seen mentioned at other tech sites that I visit. And let me assure you, it is a Lot of sites. But I need to backtrack a bit so that you can fully understand how it all comes together.
When your going through the Install Windows 8 setup process, at one time, it asks you if you want to associate your login account with a Hotmail or a live.com account. No big surprise there, Microsoft has been pushing that idea for a long, long, long time, let me tell you, all the ways back to Windows 98 SE.
Anyway, during setup you can associate a Microsoft online service with your login, and I am almost sure that this is what “ties” this feature together. You see, I had an old Hotmail account, some 15 years old that i associated. I just had to notify Setup and then login to the account. Now, I did, however, also notice that you can sign up for a new account, at what time you get the standard EULA, but, also, you have to verify a CAPTCHA.

Posted by The Right Guy in Software, Windows, Windows Vista on May 26th, 2009
Microsoft has released a standalone installer for Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 today.
The software giant posted some things to know about the service packs last month, one of the warnings is if “vLite” was used to customize your Windows Vista installation, you may have removed required system components which prevent Service Pack 2 from installing. Microsoft has a workaround for this issue.
Microsoft is expected to post the bits to Windows Update in the coming weeks but if you are eager to install SP2 today then the download links are listed below.
